Trenchless Lead Water Line Replacement with the ACME Pipe Winch. Pull or Split Lead Lines, Pull Galvanized and Copper water lines, or Split Plastic lines. The ACME Pipe Winch is also effective for Trenchless Gas Line Replacement.

WHEN IT COMES TO PIPE PULLING, THE ACME PIPE WINCH AND A COMPACT EXCAVATOR MAKE FOR A GOOD COMBINATION TO GET THE JOB DONE.

Maneuverability makes the compact excavator the machine of choice when performing urban utility excavation. But when it comes to using the small excavator for pipe pulling, it may not have the traction force or stick breakout force required to make the pull. Do not bring in larger equipment, combine the the Acme Pipe Winch and the compact excavator to get the job done.

The Acme Pipe Winch (patent pending) is the preferred pipe pulling machine to help you achieve trenchless success.

  • It has the pulling power required with a rated line pull at 20,000 lbs.

  • It preserves the original bury depth of the water line as the pull is made at a horizontal plane to the existing line.

  • And the operation is safe, as the tensioned pulling cable remains within the confines of the winch frame and the access pit during the pull.

REMOVING LEAD LINES SINCE 2018.

“I was in the R&D phase on every lead line removal job I was on. I couldn't stop thinking of a better way to pull and remove lead lines — not just for myself but for other Contractors and Municipalities across the country.”

We've been pulling lead lines for over six years. Back in 2017, we took notice of a city in Michigan that was replacing all of their lead lines using a backhoe, and pulling them — a trenchless process. And that worked, but we wanted to create a stronger, and a more controllable process. The winch seemed like a good alternative. I could use my mini excavator instead of larger equipment to provide the pulling power needed, and the pulling cable remains safely contained in the access pit. And of critical importance, by using the winch, the original bury depth would be maintained. The winch eliminated the need for larger equipment on site just to make a pull.

Trenchless excavation techniques are preferred when replacing private and public-side water service lines. By using the ACME Pipe Winch, utility companies and municipalities can avoid the disruptive open cuts to streets, terraces, and private property and the time-consuming and expensive property restoration.

Years of field trials and hundreds of pulls have gone into the development of the ACME Pipe Winch. Our committed to refining the winch and ensuring its reliability has led us in her development. Give us a call, we would enjoy hearing about your successes and also your challenges. We're proud to say our ACME Pipe Winch and other ACME products are made in the U.S.A.
